Chestnuts, acorns, colorful leaves and rose hips are threaded onto a string – autumn décor straight from nature.

Children learn about autumn fruits and experience how collected natural materials become decorative objects.

Materials

Step by step

  1. 1

    Collect chestnuts, acorns, rose hips and colorful leaves on an autumn walk.

  2. 2

    At home, sort the materials and let them dry.

  3. 3

    Carefully drill holes in the chestnuts with a hand drill (adults only!).

  4. 4

    Thread the natural materials alternately with a needle onto the string.

  5. 5

    Hang the finished garland on the window or door.
